Homemade Beef and Egg Noodles Recipe



1 lb. stew meat
1/2 Tbsp. shortening
1/4 tsp. basil leaves
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 or 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion, chopped
3 cups water
salt, pepper
2 tsp. flour
1 (12oz) pkg noodles


  1. Cut beef into 1 to 2 inch chunks. Brown on all sides in shortening. Add the remaining ingredients except flour and noodles. Cover and let simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until meat is tender.
  2. Add noodles. Let cook 20 to 30 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the flour and a small amount of cold water to form a paste, and pour into skillet. Cook until thick.


I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.
