Strawberry Dump Cake – probably the easiest cake ever! Fresh strawberries, cake mix and butter dumped in a cake pan, baked and served with vanilla ice cream. Yum!
Strawberries are in full season. It would be a pity not to use them for delicious treats. Today I made probably the easiest cake ever: Strawberry Dump Cake.
I sliced fresh strawberries, put them in buttered dish and sprinkled with some sugar, vanilla and lemon zest. Then I “dumped” cake mix over them and poured some melted butter on top. It was baked for 30 minutes in the oven and … voila! The cake was ready to eat.
I used my own Homemade Cake Mix, but you can use store-bought one as well. I happen to love lemon zest so I added it to strawberries. That is n optional ingredient which can be omitted.
Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some more fresh berries on the side, Strawberry Dump Cake is a proper dessert with no effort invested whatsoever!

- 5 cups fresh strawberries , sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- zest from 1/4 lemon (optional)
- 1 white or yellow cake mix , homemade* or store-bought
- 1/2 cup (120 g) butter, melted
-
Strawberry Dump Cake: Place strawberries in a buttered or oiled 9x13" baking dish. Sprinkle sugar, vanilla and lemon zest over it and toss to combine.
-
"Dump" dry Cake Mix over strawberries.
-
Pour melted butter on top.
-
Bake in 350 F (175 C) oven for about 30 minutes or until top is golden.
