Healthy Vegan Bisquick Mix – fantastic alternative to the store bought baking product – use it for everything – from pancakes, waffles, to sausage balls, dumplings, pot pie or coffee cake.
Healthy Vegan Bisquick Mix is a great homemade alternative to the regular, store bought Bisquick. Bisquick is a pre-mixed baking product invented in 1930, used to prepare all kinds of baked goods – from biscuits to pizza dough to pancakes to dumplings. It consists of white flour, shortening, salt and baking powder. Healthy Bisquick is a mixture of spelt or whole wheat flour and oil instead of butter, hydrogenated oil or other shortening. For milder taste, you can combine 1/2 spelt or whole wheat flour and 1/2 all-purpose flour.
Spelt and whole wheat flour are full of fiber and minerals. They also slow down the absorption of sugar which is very important for diabetics as well as for all people who are trying to lose weight. Oil has only healthy fats and no cholesterol. For savory dishes you can even use olive oil.
Use Healthy Vegan Bisquick mixture in any recipe that calls for Bisquick. For instance, when you’re preparing breakfast pancakes, waffles, crepes, banana bread, quiche, sausage balls, egg casserole or muffins. Or when you’re making dinner like chicken pot pie, taco pie or stew with dumplings. Healthy Bisquick is especially good for quick and easy dessert recipes like peach cobbler, blackberry cobbler, apple crisp, strawberry shortcake, fruit pie, blueberry muffins, drop biscuits, doughnuts, danish, scones, coffee cake, cookies… The list is endless.
