Homemade Cereal from Scratch – healthy breakfast granola.
I don’t know how come it never occurred to me before to make Homemade Cereals from Scratch? If I knew how easy it is, I would have never bought store-bought stuff again.
You can adjust this recipe according to your taste by adding some spices like cinnamon or vanilla, dried fruit, nuts or seeds after baking. Use your imagination to create different granola flavor every morning.
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup honey or agave nectar*
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar (optional)
- 1/4 cup sunflower oil or ghee or 1/2 stick butter
Preheat your oven to 300 F (150 C).
In a saucepan, combine honey and oil (or ghee) and heat until melted.
Add oats and brown sugar (for additional crunch) and mix until thoroughly coated.
Put into a non-stick baking pan or regular pan lined with baking paper. Press with a flat bottom cup (this is necessary if you want to get large cereal chunks). Bake for about 20 minutes.
Let cool completely. Break into peaces and pack in an airtight container.
