Cheeseless Pizza – use simple walnut sauce instead of cheese on your homemade pizza to make it dairy-free!
Did you know you could make pizza without the cheese? Of course you did, I’m just kidding. I wanted to offer a recipe for all vegans, lactose intolerant and pretty much anybody who wants to avoid cheese on their pizza.
I used a walnut sauce that is a sort of cheese replacement. It does not taste the same as cheese, but it gives some depth to the flavor and is also quite filling since it contains protein and fat.
You make the sauce by combining ground walnuts (or cashews or almonds) with non-dairy cream, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Sprinkle or pour it over your other pizza toppings and bake as usual.
For pizza crust I used my most favorite Crazy Dough recipe. There is a regular, vegan and gluten-free version of it. The video below shows how to make regular Crazy Dough. The procedure to make vegan or gluten-free version is the same, just the ingredients are different.
I hope you’ll like my Cheeseless Pizza!
