I was planning to make Homemade Fish Balls for a long time. I thought it would be a complicated process, but it turned out to be very simple. You can use almost any kind of fish you have, fresh or frozen (and thawed). I used cod. The important thing is to take out all bones so they don’t get crushed in your food processor. Then you process fish with cornstarch, salt and pepper until you get some sort of a paste. If the mixture gets too thick, add some water and process it a bit more. Boil fish balls in a pot of salty hot water. Homemade Fish Balls are best served in a bowl of steaming noodle soup. Pure comfort food!

- 200 g fish 7 oz, without skin and bones
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1.5 Tbsp water if needed
-
Put fish, cornstarch, salt and pepper into a bowl of your food processor. Process until fine. If the mixture is too thick, add a little bit of water.
-
Form walnut-size fish balls and drop them into a pot of boiling salty water.
-
Serve with vegetable noodle soup.
