People are used to buying certain condiments, never realizing how easy it is to make them in your own kitchen. You need just a few everyday ingredients from your fridge and 1 minute of your time to mix them together and create your homemade Tartar Sauce. Mayo, mustard, sour cream and gherkins are base of this sauce that is usually served with fried fish or seafood. I can see no reason why it couldn’t be used with grilled meat, vegetables or as a sandwich spread.
How to Make TARTAR SAUCE
Servings: 2 /3 cup
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp sour cream
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 5 Tbsp gherkins finely chopped, small pickled cucumbers
- 2 tsp fresh parsley chopped
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise with sour cream, mustard, lemon juice, finely chopped gherkins and parsley.
Cover and keep refrigerated until serving.
