Kraut Flecken are an old German/Austrian dish made of cabbage and white pasta. This is even healthier version with whole wheat pasta.

Ingredients
- 1 head of cabbage (about 3 lb or 1.5 kg)
- 3 Tbs oil
- 2 Tbs sugar
- 1 lb (1/2 kg) whole wheat noodles
- salt, ground black pepper
Instructions

Shred the cabbage to very thin slices.

In a large pot, put oil and sugar and stir until sugar becomes lightly brown.

Add cabbage to the pot and simmer, stirring from time to time, until the cabbage is thoroughly cooked, about 15-20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Cook the noodles, drain and mix with cabbage. Serve.
