  • 2 cups milk (or 1 cup milk and 1 cup water)
  • 1 cup rolled oats*
  • OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: a pinch of salt, a knob of butter, a dash of cinnamon, vanilla extract etc
  1. Pour 2 cups water in a base of your Instant Pot (electric pressure cooker). If you use hot water, you will speed up the process.
  2. Place a trivet in the pot and a heat-proof bowl on the trivet. Pour milk in the bowl. Add oatmeal and other ingredients that you're using and stir. Do not cover the bowl.
  3. Close the lid of the Instant Pot. Set on "Manual" function for 10 minutes ("Porridge" function also works fine). Set the valve to "Sealing".

  4. When cooking is over, press "Keep Warm/Cancel" button and wait for a pressure to drop in a natural way (natural release). It will take 10-15 minutes to cool down. Open the lid and serve your Instant Pot Oatmeal immediately.

*steel cut oats need to be cooked for 15 minutes; you need to use 3 cups liquid per 1 cup oats
