Pasta with Peas, Ham and Red Bell Peppers

  • 3/4 lb pasta (fettuccine linguine or spaghetti) - > cook according to directions
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 lb (115 g) ham cubed or cut into strips
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small red bell pepper cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup frozen green peas
  • 4 tsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup low-fat evaporated milk
  • grated Parmesan cheese
  1. Melt butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Add ham, garlic, red bell pepper and peas. Cook until pepper is soft, about 5 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle with flour and stir in evaporated milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 3-5 minutes or until thickened and flour is cooked.
  3. Toss cooked pasta with sauce and grated Parmesan cheese.
