Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp butter or oil
  • 2 Tbsp cashews
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 1/4 tsp fresh ginger minced or to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder or to taste
  • a pinch of ground cardamom
  • cloves a pinch of ground
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup carrots
  • 1 1/2 cup long grained rice, basmati
  • 3 cups hot water
  • salt
Instructions
  1. In a large pan, heat butter or oil and fry cashews until golden.
  2. Add onions and fry for 3 - 4 minutes or until translucent.
  3. Add ginger, garlic, turmeric, chili, cardamom and cloves. Stir-fry for 30 seconds on a low heat.
  4. Add vegetables, rice, hot water and salt. Cook on low heat, stirring from time to time, until rice is done.
