Whisk together milk, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla extract. Heat until milk is hot, but not boiling. Whisk vigorously until milk mixture is frothy, about 1 minute.

Pour brewed coffee into a mug and pour the foamed pumpkin spiced milk over it. (If you are sensitive, you can pour milk mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp.) Top with whipped topping (or cream) and sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.
