Healthy Chocolate Truffles – super easy dessert, ready in 1 minute!
This was not supposed to be a “recipe”. Not so long ago I was in a mood for something sweet and I just quickly mixed some date paste, cocoa powder and gingerbread spice and rolled it into a ball resembling chocolate truffle. It didn’t take me more than 1 minute to make it and I was pleasantly surprised how good it tasted. I made it several times afterwards, but still didn’t realize that I could publish that on my blog.
A few days ago a vegan friend of mine called me and said he will come to visit me in 15 minutes. My fridge was almost empty since I was packing to go on a trip so I thought I could make these Healthy Chocolate Truffles for him. He tried them and liked them very much and that was the first time I thought of it as a possible recipe for my blog.
First few times I made these truffles without coconut oil. Yesterday I used about 3 tablespoons coconut oil. I must admit I didn’t see any difference, so you can use it or not – any way you like. Cocoa butter would probably also be a good choice since it tastes like chocolate, but I didn’t have any at home so I didn’t try it.
I hope you’ll like my super easy dessert.
- 1 1/2 cup date paste
- 5 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 Tbsp gingerbread spice
- 3 Tbsp melted coconut oil - optional or cocoa butter
- cocoa for dusting
-
Combine date paste, cocoa powder, gingerbread spice and melted coconut oil in a bowl.
-
Knead together to get homogenous "dough" (I suppose you could use a food processor for this step).
-
Roll 1 tablespoon of the mixture into a ball. Repeate until you use up all the dough.
-
Roll the balls in cocoa powder.
