Bisquick Peach Cobbler – juicy peaches topped with tender Bisquick Mix batter in simplified traditional peach cobbler recipe.
Bisquick Peach Cobbler brings back great memories. Fantastic as a dessert as well as breakfast, old fashioned peach cobbler is everybody’s favorite southern summer dish. But there is no reason why we couldn’t enjoy a bowl of warm peach cobbler with a scoop if ice cream on the side any time of the year. If peaches are out of season, substitute fresh ones with those that are canned or frozen.
In this easy recipe fresh peaches are flavored with nutmeg, cinnamon and lemon zest and topped with Homemade Bisquick batter.

When I first made this recipe in 2013, some people were confused when I put batter under the fruit (shown in photographs). During baking process the batter will rise on top of fruit. When I shot the video (below), I put fruit under the batter. I assure you, it is delicious both ways!
The taste of Peach Cobbler, as well as peach pie, reminds me of my most favorite summer dessert – Peach Crumb Bars:
Peach Cobbler can be eaten warm or cold, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. It is a wonderful dessert for your family or a treat you will share at next picnic or pot luck party with your friends.

Where do you add the cornstarch?
You add it to peaches.
The crust ingredients go in UNDER the fruit??
I’ve seen both recipes where crust goes under the fruit as well as recipes where fruit goes under crust. This time I decided to put fruit on the bottom of the pan and cover it with crust. Next time I’ll try to put crust on the bottom and fruit on top. Anyway, result will be similar because batter will rise to top during baking.
what size pan do you use?
I used either individual mini pie dishes or 7″ (18 cm diameter; 4 cups volume) baking dish.
I believe you could use a regular pie dish as well.
Yes, under the fruit. That is part of the fun of cobbler. The “batter” will be runny so the fruit not only sits on top, but combines with the batter. As it cooks, the batter rises to the top of the fruit, making a nice crust sealing in all the fruit juices. Somewhere cobbler = trust.
Recipe does not mention what size pan to use! I’m trying a 9 inch pie pan I hope it works!
I heat my peaches in a sauce pan with butter, corn starch, nutmeg and cinnamon (either fresh or canned peaches,if canned use the syrup they come in) and then pour into a 9×1 baking dish. make Bisquick batter and pour over and bake, either in oven or microwave and it comes out great!! Of course, I like warm milk on mine after it has cooled if there is any left.
Can you use frozen peaches? If so, are there any changes to the recipe?
Yes, you can. Let them thaw, drain the liquid and proceed with the recipe.
